Experienced Gas Turbine Fitter

Alba Power started as a provider of spare parts for industrial Gas turbine services. We have grown rapidly in the past 10 years and are now one of the leading global independent companies.  We enable users of gas turbine engines to prolong the life of their machinery on a cost-effective basis. Alba power is seeking experienced gas turbine fitters to join our workshop team. The role is mainly workshop based but some field work may also be required, we ideally would like experience within the industrial gas turbine industry but this is not essential. The candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and be a team player with proven mechanical skills.

Responsible to the Operations Manager for the repair and overhaul of core business industrial gas turbines. The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • The receipt, bulk strip, detail strip, sub assembly and final build of the company’s core business industrial gas turbines
  • Safe and correct use/operation of all tools, tooling and work equipment.
  • Complying with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, processes and rules, including the timely reporting of all incidents.
  • Complying with the company’s QHSE procedures and accepted industry codes of practice, guidelines and standards.
  • Following and completing, in sequence, the requirements of all strip, build paperwork including the highlighting and reporting of critical out-of-tolerance measurements.
  • Identifying and suggesting any improvements to the company’s procedures and processes.
  • Carrying out on site support duties both offshore and onshore.
  • Any other duties as may, from time to time, be identified by company senior management

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is responsible for the day to day running of Contracted works through Alba Power Facilities and Customer sites. The Project Engineer will liaise with the Sales team/Customers to establish all requirements and ensure all works are completed in accordance with the agreements.

Working with the Sales/Production team the Project Engineer will compile a relevant Quality plan to control the works within the Overhaul facility and provide planning information, reporting and supporting documentation for these works. Regular updates are to be provided to the sales team/Customer.

Liaising with all relevant departments within Alba Power the project Engineer will assist the Sales Team/Customers with any on site problems and troubleshooting.

Assist with various Operational activities where requested by the Management Team, and any other tasks management see fit.


A degree in Engineering or a related discipline
Previous experience of working on rotating equipment
Good understanding of Gas Turbines, Compressors, driven units and associated equipment, with some experience in delivering service products to the customer in an operating environment
Commercial awareness, problem solving and creative thinking with quality and efficiency being the main focus
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to work as a team member
Awareness of different cultures and customs
