Alba Power Apprenticeship Scheme

We launched our first Apprenticeship Scheme in the Summer of 2013, taking on three selected candidates who displayed aptitude, enthusiasm and a keen willingness to learn and develop.

The scheme is overseen by both our Managing Director, Neil McKenzie, and our Production Manager, Chris Field, and the programme involve 4 years of in-house workshop experience and training provided by ITCA in Aberdeen.

The Alba Power Apprenticeship Scheme gives those involved an SVQ level 3 and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. They also gain vast amounts of knowledge in all aspects of power generation. Apprentices are assessed on a monthly basis in order to quickly expand their knowledge of power generation.

Through the scheme, Alba Power commits to providing full power generation knowledge to future generations, adding value to our clients, the industry and the local economy.

We have had four apprentices complete the four years, and currently, have eight in the programme.
